Pierre was formerly a manservant formerly in the employ of Dr. Sacripant de Lione. However, he was seduced and tortured by Patrice Montremart into revealing the damning evidence his employer had been using to blackmail her. She went too far in her tortured and killed Pierre. His body was dumped into the ocean but washed back on shore.[1]
