Dr. Orson Fritz was a member the Brotherhood of Mortis. However, he abandoned and the organization and was subsequently murdered.[1] His daughter Alicia Fritz fights the Brotherhood to avenge his death.[2]

The Brotherhood of Mortis and related entities were inspired by the Playstation 1 Video Game Nightmare Creatures by Activision/Kalisto.[3]
