When not at war, bearded devils may work as guards.[1] A bearded is typically armed with a glaive[1][2], but the devil's beard can also serve as a savage cutting weapon in its own right. Furthermore, it can inflict a disease called devil chills[1] or a poison that prevents healing as it goes through the victim's system.[2]
