Death linens are creatures made of animate cloth that has been infused with the psychic force of nightmares. One type of death linen is the sheet.[1]
Note that the death linens were first presented in Dragon Magazine #257 Article Formidable Visitants, but the sheet death linen was included in the House on the Edge of Midnight module for reference. 
Note that death linens were never updated to 3rd Edition, so any creature types below are speculative
