Whereas Ravenloft has the ancient dead that may vary in abilities and strength by power rank (in 3rd Edition, as a template), the core Monstrous Manual or Monster Manual gives a "standard" mummy common to all settings. According to Van Richten's Guide to the Ancient Dead, the standard mummy is a Rank 3 Ancient Dead.[1]
