In the Vaasi story written by Ansgar, Gudrun was a barbarian queen who bore a star-crossed love for Haldor. When they were ordered to lead armies against each other, Gudrun sabotaged her efforts and was killed. Unfortunately, Haldor pulled the same stunt and died as well.[1]
