WIKISEEDs are brief blurbs of information intended as a "seed" for Mistipedia.
| #REDIRECT Mistipedia:WIKISEED |
| |
Mistipedia was first created from the database of the Ravenloft Catalogue. In the Catalogue, each entry has a "See also" field with short descriptions of how that entry relates to other entries. For Example:
| |
Strahd's "See Also" field in the Catalogue:
| |
{|border=1
|Vampire
Darklord of Barovia
Resident of Castle Ravenloft
Brother of Sergei and Sturm von Zarovich
Hunts for Tatyana Federovna in her incarnations
|}
| |
This got imported into Strahd's Mistipedia wiki page as the following WIKISEEDs:
| |
{|border=1
|WIKISEED FROM CATALOGUE : Vampire(Please edit freely, then remove this note and WIKISEED label)
WIKISEED FROM CATALOGUE : Darklord of Barovia(Please edit freely, then remove this note and WIKISEED label)
WIKISEED FROM CATALOGUE : Resident of Castle Ravenloft(Please edit freely, then remove this note and WIKISEED label)
WIKISEED FROM CATALOGUE : Brother of Sergei and Sturm von Zarovich(Please edit freely, then remove this note and WIKISEED label)
WIKISEED FROM CATALOGUE : Hunts for Tatyana Federovna in her incarnations(Please edit freely, then remove this note and WIKISEED label)
|}
| |
The intent is that someone will come along and edit Strahd's page into a coherent article at some point. Until then, the WIKISEEDs will act as placeholders and a temporary source of info. Once the wiki page is written, and all information from the WIKISEEDs is included, the WIKISEEDs are no longer necessary and should be removed.
| |
For example, Strahd's WIKISEEDs were converted into this initial entry, ready for further expansion:
{|border=1
|Count Strahd von Zarovich is the Vampire darklord of Barovia. He rules the land publicly from Castle Ravenloft as Strahd XI, supposedly a descendant of Strahd I, but actually the same man. He once had two brothers, Sergei and Sturm von Zarovich, but killed Sergei on his wedding day in an attempt to claim Sergei's bride, Tatyana Federovna. This is the final act that caused him to become the first known darklord. He is now cursed to hunt and lose Tatyana's frequent reincarnations.
|}
| |
More WIKISEEDs will be added as further sources of info (such as Joël Paquin's List of Canon and Noncanon Ravenloft Material) are auto-imported into the wiki.
| |
In brief: Don't leave redundant WIKISEEDs lying around. (Not a big deal, really, but the sooner we clean them up, the sooner Mistipedia will look like a "real wiki" and not so computer-generated.) Happy Editing!
