Mirgau was a priest who belonged to the order within the Church of Zhakata known as the Hands of Zhakata. When Yagno Petrovna declared the worship of Zhakata the Provider to be heresy, Mirgau refused to cease worshipping the Provider. He led a band of fellow worshippers into the Outlands, and they took up residence atop a mesa.
The Swords of Zhakata were sent to kill the heretics. They failed in their initial attempt to storm the mesa, but their subsequent siege was successful. Mirgau and all who had followed him starved atop the mesa.[1]
