Flowswift[1] is a minor character from the Ravenloft product line novel Dance of the Dead (Novel). She is a nereid that was enslaved by Captain Raoul Dumont.
Biography
Flowswift served as a scout for Dumont's boat, La Demoiselle du Musarde. Dumont held her shawl ransom in order to ensure her cooperation, and would burn its threads to torture her into obedience whenever she tried to resist him.
Sometime after the ship came to Souragne, Dumont accused her of trying to seduce Young Caleb to retrieve her shawl. He had Lond turn Young Caleb into a zombie to set an an example for her to not attempt it again. Although nereids are sometimes evil and almost always chaotic creatures, the revelation of Young Caleb's fate seemed to shock and horrify Flowswift, and she displayed at least some sense of compassion and honour. She later assisted Larissa Snowmane in escaping, seeing her as a fellow victim of Dumont's. She was later freed in the swamps of Souragne in return by Larissa.
