Originally flowing through the domain of Gundarak before it was absorbed by neighboring lands, the Gundar River is a major tributary of the Musarde River. It flows from Forlorn downriver through the Gorge of Passing Sorrow into Barovia past the western edge of the Bloodfang Hills and through the souther Balinok Mountains into Invidia. In Invidia, it joins with the Nharov River and ultimately terminates in the Musarde.[1]

The Red Box set stipulates that Barovia is the ultimate source of river[3], whereas Gazetteer I says that Forlorn lies upriver through the Gorge of Passing Sorrow.[4] Most maps suggest that the river ultimately derives the Lake of Red Tears in Forlorn.
