Fey

A Fey woman, possibly a Hamadryad, who resides within Maison d'Sablet (on the Maiden's Island in Lake Noir) in Souragne.

To her lasting regret, the Maiden was the one who taught Anton Misroi how to control the powers of nature when she first met him and he still looked like the undead creature he is, believing him to be a fellow Fey creature. Since Anton attained supremacy over Souragne, she has been working against his evil where possible - but not directly. She is apparently unable to leave the Maiden's Island for long periods of time, as it is the only place in Souragne that is not touched by Anton's evil.

The Maiden was also the teacher (and lover) of Alondrin, and later of Larissa Snowmane.

Loa

In the Voodan religion[1], the Maiden of the Swamp is a Loa who has dominion over healing, those lost in the wild and growing things. She is seen as flighty but benign, a servant of the Lord of the Dead who performs tasks for which he is ill-suited.
