Characters with ranks in Knowledge (nature) can learn more about dire ravens. When a character makes a successful skill check, the following lore is revealed, including the information from lower DCs.
DC Result
10 This ebon bird is a dire raven. It is a scavenger that attacks only to defend its carrion meals. This result reveals all animal traits.
15 Dire ravens are attacted to shiny baubles, and if attacked, instinctually try to peck out their opponents’ eyes.
Errata
- Pg. 124-127
- Stygian Inquirer: The Fortitude and Will saves for the Dire Raven are off. It should be +3 for the Will save (+3 Wis, +0 base because animals do not have a good Will save) and +4 for the Fortitude save (+2 Con, +2 Base as animals have good Fortitude and Reflex saves). Also, the hit points for the Dire Raven are wrong. They are listed as: 1d8 (4) but the Dire Raven has a Constitution of 14 so it should be 1d8+2 (6).
- cure: As a Dire Animal, a dire raven cannot have an intelligence of 4. It must lowered to 2 or the type must be changed to Magical Beast and the name must be changed so as not to suggest that it is a Dire Animal.
