Hoder MacGrannin is the son of Fainal MacGrannin and the father of Niall MacGrannin. In 688 BC Hoder, along with a group of other Forfarian settlers, emerged from the Mists to find the lost (to them) Barony of Forfar. He was inspired by the twin castles of Castle Forfarmax aand Castle ApBlanc to establish the hamlet of Forfarmax nearby just across the border.^[1]
