Somma[1] is a magical plant found on the Isle of Desidia. The drug made from its seeds is so highly addicting that it has put everyone in Desidia, slave and slaver alike, under its sway.
The crop of somma is taken from overgrown, barbed thistles by slave labor. The slaves then pour the seeds into the Somma Machine, which makes the drug from the crushed seeds.
