Illya Buchvold was the younger brother of Lord Ivan Buchvold and a soldier serving Strahd in Prime Material Barovia.[1] He was thought to be a traitor and a Ba'al Verzi assassin sent to kill Strahd. The assassination attempt was foiled, and Illya stabbed to death by Leo Dilisnya's hands[2] In actuality, Illya was the fall guy for a failed assassination attempt actually committed by Leo Dilisnya.[3]
