A criminal mastermind and the enemy of Sherlock Holmes, Professor James Moriarty is secretly a rakshasa on Gothic Earth.[1][2] Professor Moriarty ranks as a lord level in the hierarchy of servants of the Red Death.[3]
The two versions of the Masque of the Red Death campaign setting present two different reasons for Moriarity to seek out new foes and eschew Holmes.
