Stealing money from the burgomaster of Immol, Besczu brought down the wrath of Strahd whom turned the doppelganger into a servant, a vampire spawn with its Change Shape and Detect Thoughts special abilities somehow intact. This "doppel-vampire spawn" now serves Strahd as a spy and executioner, currently stationed at Castle Hunadora where it keeps an eye on Gabrielle Aderre and the Gundarakite rebels.
