Leo Dilisnya is the bastard son of Duchess Dorfniya Dilisnya who was present at the ill-fated wedding of Sergei von Zarovich and Tatyana Federovna. He is an ancestor to the current Dilisnyan clan that rules Borca.

Background

The Dilisnyas were a scheming family of minor nobility in the Prime Material Plane nation of Barovia, and Leo was no exception. In 351, he took part in the uprising that occurred during the tragic, violent wedding at Castle Ravenloft by sending his own assassins to kill Strahd. He and the rest of his family were drawn into the Land of Mists along with Strahd, who never forgot their betrayal.

398: Leo's past eventually caught up with him, but not before he prepared for it. He lured Strahd into a mountain sanctuary that was a temple to a sect that no longer exists in Barovia. Strahd was almost destroyed by Leo, who had him in a magical trap, however Strahd was able to take control of the mind of a nearby young monk that saved him. Strahd then ended Leo's life, but not his existence.

Strahd entombed Leo is a particularly thick, inescapable stone tomb. When Leo awoke, he realized that Strahd had turned him into an immortal vampire. Begging for mercy and forgiveness, Strahd merely left Leo to his imprisonment, with Leo raging from anger and thirst. As of 754 BC, he has not escaped. Given that no one has succeeded in freeing him either, there is some question as to whether he is really entombed in the place that Strahd set down in writing.
