Maligno

Maligno is the darklord of Odiare and a carrionette, based on Pinocchio. He was created by the toymaker Guiseppe out of his desire for a son, and ended up murdering the entire adult population because they would not believe that he was real. The children, who originally loved him and did believe he was real, adore him. Maligno keeps Guiseppe, now driven mad, in an attic in one of the houses, making more toys and carrionettes for Maligno. Maligno had originally planned to use a cadre of carionnettes under his control to possess the adults of Odiare, but was foiled by a group of adventurers and was forced to slaughter them all instead.

Although he hates Guiseppe, Maligno needs him, for he is the only one who can repair him. Also, Maligno cannot harm Guiseppe, for all harm inflicted on Guiseppe is inflicted on himself.
