A sentire is either the leader of a significant temple of the Church of Ezra, typically in a sizable urban community, or is the overseer of a significant number of more modest temples in the service of Ezra, typically in a rural setting. A sentire leads a minimum of five anchorites and shepherds a congregation, whether individual or in aggregate, that contributes sufficiently for his or her ministry to be financially self-reliant. Sentires are often named for the areas that they serve: thus it is common to hear terms such as the “Sentire of Sturben.” Even more so than a toret, a sentire’s days are filled with the tending of his or her congregation and the managing of the daily affairs of his or her ministry. Hence, role is usually a poor fit for player characters.[1]
