Heresa Heri, the Vulture King, is one of the disciples of the Vulture God in Tsuu-Y-Teke. Having been gifted by the Vulture God with the ability to create permanent light from gemstones, Heresa Heri used this ability only to decorate his headdress instead of sharing it with everybody else. Kananciwe was offended and plucked glowing feathers from his defeated foe and cast them into the sky. While Kananciwe was blinded, Heresa Heri struck him down. For this act of evil, the Sun Puma cursed Heresa Heri to be burned by the rays of sunlight.[1]
Heresa Heri tried to flee from the overwhelming sunlight, but was struck down. His servants gathered his remains and mummified him, thus preventing him from having to become one of the Kuni. During his mummification, Heresa Heri cursed the Inan and the Sun Puma. However, with such a curse he hurt himself as much as any, for the sun now shines perpetually in Tsuu-Y-Teke.[2]
Tsuu-Y-Teke lingers on as a greater mummy, though he he cannot ever come out of the caves save for a brief period of time once a month when the sun goes out during the True Night. Heresa Heri believes that he may be able to take back the light if he can find and enchant enough gems, but the Dark Powers have cursed him with the inability to remember how many it will take.[3]
