The piper of Hamelyn had a talent for the enchantment of rats to the end of delivering them to their doom. He offered his services to the mayor of Ste. Ronges in 722 BC. His efforts ended badly with his death under the teeth and claws of rats as a consequence of the interference of Jacqueline Renier.[1][2]
