In the Vaasi story written by Ansgar, Haldor was a barbarian queen whom bore a star-crossed love for Haldor. When they were ordered to lead armies against each other, Gudrun sabotaged his efforts and was killed. Unfortunately, Haldor pulled the same stunt and died as well.[1]
