Jadis, also known as Velvet-Claw, was a Werepanther and a member of the Kargat highly favored by Azalin Rex. Azalin sent Jadis to keep track of Baron Caidin and discover his traitorous intent, but she met her doom in a trap that unleashed a fire elemental upon her. Or she would have, but her flesh had become necrotized with a sort of rotting undeath from an earlier. She told Mika where to find Wort and Baron Caidin in return for being euthanized. In delivering the information to Mika, she served her master well, for the complications of Mika's intervention caused Caidin's efforts to fail.[1]
