Casdin, a farmer who lived near Delagia, created a Straw Golem in response to taxation by the local government. He, along with the governor and his guards, were all ultimately killed by Casdin's Straw Golem.[1]
Today, the people of Delagia refuse to use scarecrows for fear of offending the legendary murderous entity known as Casdin's Reaper.[2]
