Stella is a minor NPC from the 5th Edition module Curse of Strahd. Madness afflicts her, for she believes herself to be a cat.[1]
History
Stella is the daughter of Lady Fiona Wachter and the late Nikolai Sr. and the sister of Nikolai and Karl Wachter. Lady Fiona attempted to set Stella up with Victor Vallakovich in an attempt to win power in Vallaki, but the incident ended terribly. Victor Vallakovich's words were so cruel it afflicted Stella with madness, and Fiona locked Stella away in Wachterhaus.[2]
In Curse of Strahd
Stella is one of Strahd's potential enemies, as determined by Madame Eva's card reading. However, she provides no boon to the player characters until she has been healed of her delirium.[3] If healed of her madness, Stella blames Fiona's demeaning and abusive exploitation and happily tosses aside her family.[1]
