Captain Dandret is a captain of one of Invidia's press gangs. He is the one responsible for "discovering" Gesmas Malaturno and bringing him to the attention of Invidian authorities (specifically, the Inquest. When his sergeant attempted to proceed with the execution on his own, Captain Dandret killed him with a throwing knife and had his body dragged behind a horse all the way to Valetta.[1]
