Bethany Stone

Bethany Stone is the darklord of Stonewall. Before turning down the dark path, Bethany lived a life being used and abused. But then disaster struck, as an accident left her father dead and her husband comatose. In addition, she stumbled upon her husband's diary and learned about some of his secrets about the purpose of their marriage. Grown bitter and spiteful, Bethany recruited and manipulated her son, Clarence Stone, to start a campaign of burning paranoia to purge the world of sin. This little spark was enough to make the witch craze spread to other neighboring towns such as Salem. Bethany's final act before entering Ravenloft was slaying her own child Katherine Stone in cold blood for trying to stop her friend from getting hunt.

Upon becoming darklord of Stonewall, Bethany was transformed into a harpy. However, she can make her wings come and go, so if she wears baggy clothing she can pass for human. However, that is not the end of her torment. She has become cursed to lose control of her children one by one whether through death or alienation. In addition, the victims condemned by her fabrications do not pass on peacefully. Rather, they linger on as bitter geists running amok in the town.
