Kematef was a priest who belonged to the Cult of Set. He seduced Sachmet (a servant of the hated goddess Bast) and then murdered her using a fatal and incurable poison.[1] Some part of Kematef's spirit resides within the Staff of Set as a possessive force so long as Sachmet's mummy remains animate.[2]
