Mara's parents entered the House of Lament when her mother was pregnant. Mara's mother died giving birth to her, and Mara's father subsequently escaped with baby in hand. However, Mara holds part of the soul of the original Mara and thus the House seeks to reclaim her. The quiet child keeps to herself, and weird phenomena follow her. Unless some intervention is made, the House will eventually bring itself upon Mara's reality and those in her environs.[1]
