Khasek was a thief by profession. He was also a runaway slave from [[Muhar]]. He discovered a secret entrance into the [[Tomb of Hotep]] and was so impressed by what he saw as to attempt to revive worship of the ancient god [[Sobek]], beseeching his direct intervention in the form of rain to restore fertility to the land. Khasek led a group of six cultists in the seizure of victims from Muhar and their sacrificed to the god. The spilled blood did not bring rain, but it did stir to consciousness [[Hotep]], the mummified high priestess of Sokeb, whom [[Anhktepot]] had forced into perpetual slumber.
