Bill Copperplate is a hermit local to Rutledge. He is consumed by a desire to recruit adventurers and go an expedition to a group of nearby islands called the Dismal Four.[1][2] He has only managed to convince enough for a single voyage, and that time he came back as the only survivor without even any sort of prize for his folly.[1]
Bill Copperplate was formerly a crewman serving under Captain Andrew Dusard. He is the only one who made it out of the destruction of the Grasping Claw alive.[1]
