Grandmother Nichia is an elderly wizardess and long-time resident of Il Aluk. She and her son Goya moved to Il Aluk after she poisoned her husband in retaliation for transforming their son into a Broken One. For a time, she taught arcane spellcasting, more specifically transmutation, in the slums of Il Aluk. However, she was coerced into serving the Kargat as a spy and informant. The guilt of those she has betrayed to the Kargat weighs upon her soul.[1]
Both Grandmother Nichia and her son were transformed into intelligent corporeal undead by the Requiem. She helped adventurers attempt to escape Death.[2]
Both Grandmother Nichia's cane and cap are magical.[1] In addition, she owns a Rod of Resurrection.[3]
Grandmother Nichia's familiar is Lenore.[1] It was transformed into a skeleton during the Requiem.[4]
