Owners of the shoreline[1], the Holsworths were compelled one by one by an ancestral curse (called the Yearning) to seek out an island far out at sea. None of them ever returned.[2]
The Yearning may have been the result of the Ashen Man put upon the Holsworth ship captain for keeping him from coming back to see his lover safely.[1]
