Owners of the shoreline, the Holsworths were compelled one by one by an ancestral curse (called the Yearning) to seek out an island far out at sea. None of them ever returned.[1]
The Yearning may have been the result of the passenger of a Holsworth ship put upon the Holsworth ship captain for keeping him from coming back to see his bride safely.[1]
