Antidotes are substances that counter poisons by restoring to proper order processes undermined and deranged by poisons, which may include an overdose of a medication and, more generally, of a drug. A given antidote counteract a particular poison or a number of closely related poisons. Antidotes may be made with a Profession (herbalist) skill check for plant based poisons, a Craft (Alchemy) skill check for alchemical poisons, and a Craft (Poisonmaking) or a Knowledge (Toxicology) skill check for all types of poison. Antidotes are themselves medications and, more generally, drugs. Hence the correct dose is essential.
