The nobility are the upper class within a state. They seek to oppress those beneath themselves and they wish not to be ruled by anyone above them.
In a well-organised kingdom the nobility are ruled from above by a prince who has a measure of concern for the peasants and far more for the good of the nation itself which is his to lead. Consequently, he obliges his nobles to rule rather than to oppress, to themselves lead those who are lesser than themselves.
In a poorly organised kingdom the nobility are not ruled from above by a prince who has a measure of concern for the peasants and far more for the good of the nation itself which is his to lead. Consequently, he allows his nobles oppress as much as they like, to themselves lead led those who are lesser than themselves into revolt.
