The Dreyfus Affair

The Dreyfus Affair is/was a period of unrest and political scandal that following the accusation of Captain Alain Dreyfus, then Captain of the French Army and an officer of the General Staff, was a traitor leaking state secrets to Germany. After he was convicted and imprisoned, the state secrets continued to be leaked. Further investigation was covered up, and attempts to retry Dreyfus failed to acquit him. President Loubet evetually pardoned Dreyfus and Emile Zola, the journalist that brought the matter to light, setting them free.

Die Wächtern investigated the incident and determined that a sinister shapechanger was involved, but they have produced no evidence of this revelation.
