Alcoholics are addicted to alcohol which is, strictly speaking, a poison. At least a degree of intoxication is, ideally, a nigh permanent state with them. They enjoy a capacity to cope with their intoxication which less practiced drinkers do not usually share. Consequently, their intoxication is often not, at least in the short term, incapacitating. Their [[intoxication or drunkenness, but not their addiction, may be ended with a neutralize poison spell.
