Fusillading is an execution method that consists of killing a individual condemned of the commission of a crime by the simultaneous firing of multiple arrows, bolts or balls by a squad of bowmen, of crossbowmen, or of musketeers. The act of so killing is intended to be quick and painless. No great skill is necessarily involved and consequently an executioner is not presumed by this method of execution. Any handful of soldiers can be expected to perform efficiently a fusillading. Fusilladings are perceived as being especially useful for maintaining discipline within any army.
