Boars, sometimes called wild boars are wild, tusked pigs that are the forebears of domestic pigs.[1] Boars are found in most domains[2][3], particularly Barovia.[4][5]
The listing of wild pigs in the small animal table in the 2nd edition Realm of Terror and Ravenloft Campaign Setting boxed sets[6][7] is probably intended to refer to wild boar.
