A terrible mist creature that kills its victims by using corrosive sand to strip the flesh from their bones.[1] One is known to have taken the life of Drake Penarrow and disfigured his brother Dr. Alexander Penarrow, causing the latter to assume the hunt of mist creatures.[2] The Bleak Road and the Heretic's Egress are two mistways that act as hunting grounds for scarlet storms.[3]
