Jahed, sometimes misspelled as Jahred, is a Weretiger residing in Sri Raji. He is the leader of the Stalkers, devoted to Ravana, and an enemy of Arijani. He was infected with lycanthropy by Milissa.[1]

Background

Originally born in the Dalelands of Faerun, Jahed was part of a tribe of wanderers not so different in profession from the Vistani. (Though Jahed's people had no such magical power as the Vistani. As such he is a skeptic of the Vistani's nystical prowess). Jahed's father, Mercurio, was a cruel and sadistic meddler and an abuser of Jahed's mother, Antelucia.[1]

After Jahed fell in love with Milissa, Mercurio thought to violently break them up. However, Milissa transformed into a weretiger and devoured him. Jahed took out his knife in return to counterattack, but she struck him down.[1]

Later Jahed awoke to find himself bandaged but also discovered a note Milissa had left saying they would never meet again. Antelucia took the news of Mecurio's death well, even becoming light of heart and spirit. She died nine months later. On the anniversary of Mercurio's death, Jahed found that he would transform into a weretiger, and the taking of a sentient life is what he required to change back.[1]

Jahed traveled for a while, attempting to tame the beast within him. He could not tame the evil in his heart, but he did not succumb to the chaos imprinted on him by his father. When the Mists took him to Sri Raji, Jahed found he was hunted by the Dark Sisters and Arijani. Ravana, on the other hand, tasked him with punishing the traitorous ruler of Sri Raji. Thus Jahed formed the Stalkers.[1]

Jahed and the Stalkers are mentioned in the background of Radjiff Chandor. Randiff had been sent to hunt and kill Jahed, but Jahed defeated him. Chandor was injured, but managed to escape with his life. The Stalkers killed Chandor's wife, Meedga Chandor and two sons in retaliation. They continue to stalk Chandor.[2]

Jahed and the Stalkers also became involved with the events leading to the recapture of Ravana's Bane.[3]
