The rather soft-spoken Etienne Lefebvre is nonetheless the current Sentire of Souragne and a much more successful religious reformer than his two predecessors, Ti-Maman and Sentire Franklin Tennyson. To a certain degree, Etienne has been influenced by both. He continues to advocate for the former's inclusion and the latter's compassion in Souragnien church and society.[1]

A member of the Lefebvre Family and a native Souragnien, Etienne was made Secretary of the Church of Ezra in Souragne by Ti-Maman in 706 BC. Following her death, Etienne successfully argued for both Ti-Maman's tolerant inclusion of the loas by/in the church (if not voodan practices) and the use of Sentire Tennyson's compassion in church doctrinal teachings in Souragne. He made this accomplishment using a combination of past precedence in the Church's history, fears of a growing revolution with assassins running around, and phrasing his question of "who are we to question Ezra's will". Unlike both of Etienne's predecessors, he has made it a point to stay in good with the wealthy seigneurs.[2]

Although Etienne's compromises have kept the church going so far, there are grumbles and ambivalence showing from both the top and the bottom of society. Meanwhile, Etienne has continued with Ti-Maman's work of penning the Fifth Book of Ezra with two goals in mind. First, satisfy his patriotism by finding an essentially Souragnien understanding of Ezra's Grand Scheme in the same way the Dementlieuse Sect did. Second, he writes for the inclusion of spirits and even deities to be saved, so long as they tolerate or embrace Ezra.[3]
