Okay as to the three animal people, are they actual living people or statues? How many shambling so called zombies are there as well.

For now Norzak can't tell the others about what he has noticed for fear of being discovered, but he shall when he gets the chance.

What do Benn, Dorgio and perhaps Alain make of the upside down torches, fumes, and the overall black liquid pool. I don't think that's water at all. Have we stumbled onto some kind of ritual?

Oh, the three figures are moving, just not much. They don't look like statues, but their robes and masks make them impossible to clearly identify as human.

There are ten shamblers. Five to each isde of the entrance [which is the end of the hall in which the party stands/is walking].

Round 1 has begun.

Jon has a 20 before mods for initiative. He rolled a 17 with his sneak attack- which seems to have little effect. Hehehheheheee.

Likewise,Norzak's sneak attack seems to have done little harm to the shambler.

Both Jon and Norzak are now grappling with these things.

Let's see what the rest of the party does, shall we....

Alain has a 14 total(mods added) for initiative . And when the figure(s) in the animal mask(s) get hit by his spell then they take 16 points of damage from the spell at the end of the round . Take that cultists !!!!!

Yeah, you smacked at least one of them but good. Oh, and you just made him fumble a spell.

I posted. I'm using my Dark Knowledge ability for the undead guys. +1 to attacks for the party on the zombies. Assuming they are zombies, that is.

status report

so far:
Benn has used his Dark Knowledge to give you all a small bonus in fighting these walking dead men.

Jon and Norzak tried backstabbing the sack-heads to minimal effect and got roughed up by them in return [Benn's seen enough to be fairly sure these things are, in fact, some kind of zombies].

Alain was shot by the cultist/robed guy in the rat mask.

The Doctor [when his mask fell off, Benn would be able to make a positive ID- he isn't forgetting that SOB anytime soon] is tangled in Buckman's net.

Cirdan just got body checked by the cultist/robed dude with the fly-mask.

Dorgio turned all but three of the shamblers.

Denys disabled/killed one of the three on Dorgio, so the priest is only wrestling with two.

Round Two has now begun.

Okay Jon just walloped one more zombie=- meaning Dorgio is only dealing with one grappling him.
[I'm running Jon as an NPC until Jmatyr gets his internet service up and running again].

When casting his spells at the enemy his attack roll(rolled a nat20) for the zombie is A 21 with all mods included .Damage is 8 points . If some one takes out the zombie before cast's that spell then the attack roll is at one of the animal masked minions that are not in engaged in melee with one of the other party members if possible . Confirming roll came up a 22 against those not engaged in melee 18 otherwise . Damage in this case is 17 points of acid damage or 34 for the critical hit . Both attacks are at touch AC .

Nobody took our the zombie first, so we are going with your original intent- DU on it. It works, but isn't enough to destroy it.

Norzak's spell messed the Doctor up, and old boy doesn't look like he's getting free of that net just now. He's obviously in a bad spot. Norzak can make an AoO on him next round. The dwarf's legs may be short, but he doesn't have that much ground to cover!

Okay, Dorgio will try to break free from the zombie.

Grapple check total: 19

If he gets away, he'll use his move action to get away from the shambler and ready his spear.

Cure moderate wounds on Cirdan. I don't suppose anyone has a significant fire spell, do they? Oh, to be in a domain with druids who could have taught me Produce Flame.
