RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away (prelude/recruitment)
“ The landlord is still piss-drunk. Can’t even recall her name, but he says she was a whore; I could have guessed that from the cheap musk. Smells like the bottle broke in here. And she looks familiar, too. I keep an eye out for the pretty ones. Anyhow, what do you guess? Robbery gone bad? Pimp lost his temper? “
“No.”
“ I don’t see busted shutters, loose door, none of that. Don’t see bruises, either. Huh, and look at that fancy brocade blanket! Nice. Probably stolen. We’d better confiscate it. “
“ Look at the girl.”
“Yeah, I know. It creeps me out too. It’s like she fell asleep after fixing her hair.”
“Look under the blanket.”
“ Alright—The Lady’s Mercy! Wha…what… did that?”
“A knife. Sharp and small. He took his time killing her. Cleaned her face, combed out her hair afterward.”
“ That’s crazy!”
“Yes.”
“That settles it. We don’t paid enough to chase madmen. Better tell the guild to hire some of those practicals, like the aristos do.”
“For a whore?”
“ Huh. I guess not. Poor girl. I’m sure I recognize her now. “
“ Wait, where did you see her?”
“ Oh, let me think…that was outside the Lorelei. It’s nicer since Van Diecks left town and that foreign woman took over. Hey, hey, where are you going? “
“Stay here. Don’t move anything, or let anybody else into the garret. I need to find someone…”
“No.”

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away (prelude/recruitment)
Game info,
OOC
Setting: Ravenloft, beginning in the city of Pont-a-Mouseau
System : 3.5
Roster/ who is invited: admission by application. maximum of seven players.
Priority given to veterans of the earlier games in this campaign.
Note: This adventure will conclude the Ravenloft campaign that began with Mists over the Musarde and continued with The Devil's Dreams, The Ghosts of Gauntcliff, and Mists of Winter (the Jenny Greenteeth adventure).
Further adventures in Ravenloft will probably take place in a fresh campaign, under a different rule set, in the Black box era or else decades into the future.

Count me in!
History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away (prelude/recruitment)
Thus far, it looks as if we have got:
Dorgio Varga (played by BrockMarshRunoff)
Bennedict Gehrman (played by Adam)
Maybe one of RocEtr's old guys--Thom?
Alhoon's Darkonese wizard, from the hag-hunt adventure
Sara Croft, played by Van
Jürgen or Franz, played by SteveFlam
Update:
Katrina, played by Kintire
Recruitment closed
This party makes sense, so far.
Benn and Dorgio are the old guard.
Sara worked with them to stop Jenny Greenteeth.
So did Alhoons' wizard.
Juergin left the party after his mutation near the end of Ghost of Gauntcliff, under suspicion but not in open conflict with the others. Benn did tell the kid to look him up if he ever reached Pont-a-Musueau. It's a stretch. But the Dark One is.
Both of RocEter's PCs were party members and on good terms with the others. If he cannot find either, we can intro a new guy.

Well, you know I can't let this go.
"Of course," Benn mutters, "It would be a damned shame if we ever knew what the hell was actually going on."

Reading up on the epilogues from our last Mists game and getting way too stoked.

Yup
Do you have the character sheet? Because I changed computer and I don't know if I still have it.

You based her on the character from Skybolt's suspended game.

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away (prelude/recruitment)
Do we have a sense of how much time has passed between 1) The last MotM adventure and now and 2) The very first MotM game and now? Trying to get a sense for how old Dorgio would be now if he was 27 at the start.
