Reminder-- all scenes are active.
I won't skip Thom or Alain unless I really have to do so.

I will post something tomorrow.ewancummins wrote:Reminder-- all scenes are active.

History prefers legends to men. It prefers nobility to brutality, soaring speeches to quiet deeds. History remembers the battle and forgets the blood. What ever history remembers of me if it remembers me at all, it shall only be the fraction of the truth.

Oh great... I nearly lit up our allies and our quarry. That would totally help with the Darkonese-Falkovian reputation and the "wizards have more power on their hands than sense on how to use it" stereotype.
ON RAEN'S "What I nearly have done!!!" thing. You may think that he takes it too far. First, I don't think so despite no harm done to the servants or the Falkovnians. Second, Raen is in the after-effects of a horror check.

He will take 20 on a General Search Check of Ruins when the group gets there .
Total "Search" survey of the ruins if taking 20 is 39 Modified by NPC's giving aid another/circumstance bonuses etc .
He will cast Spontaneous Search spell on at least 2 spots he thinks would makes sense for a Rogue to Search for traps perse and gain the 20' Radius area as the spell gives taking ten on all objects in that area . The total Search is is 29 when he does that . I don't think any other bonuses apply, but the DM will will have to decide on that .

No other bonuses apply, but a 29 is good enough to find some stuff.
Update coming.

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away OOC
I've closed that chapter.
Mike, just PM me your scene and we'll do it that way. You can spoiler box post it later.
It's separate, so no worries about chronology linning up, at least not right now.
Lord Skybolt--ditto if you wanted to add anything more to your scene.
What I need now:
any additional actions your PCs plan for this game night/morning
any rolls you want to make
general sense of the group's intent for next chapter. Do you want to rendezvous or stay split up?
Play out all the in-between transitional stuff or skip to a big group scene/individual actions?

Just ooooone thing more please! Raen would sheepishly enter the area too and quietly apologize to Benn (with a quick "I am sorry for endangering your loved ones" not a big explanation). He would take a good look at the faces of every innocent man, every ally he may have killed in his haste (he won't mention it).

Kat will catch some sleep and in the morning will deliver her living creature in ash samples to the alchemist. She will then keep in contact with the others to help in any plans, although presumably she has to do some work at some point.
I'm happy to play that out or have it summarised depending on whether you think anything interesting will happen.

Raen:
Raen enters the building, his moves slow by shame. He approaches Bennedict and quietly offers a short apology for the disaster that he nearly placed on him. He simply states "I apologize for endangering your loved ones with my recklessness." Then without waiting for an answer he would look at the face of every person, realizing he may have killed friends and allies in a moment of poor judgement.

sense motive
[dice]0[/dice]
spot

Raen would pick up that the men in the bar kitchen seem to be hiding their faces (hooded cloaks, indoors, late summer night) but he can't tell if it is about him, or for other reasons.

Raen will give them their privacy (remember he has a magic item that gives him a bonus to sense motive...)

Re: RAVENLOFT: The One That Got Away OOC
Hey guys, sorry I've dropped off the map the past few weeks. Long story short, I suffer from a chronic and fairly serious (though fortunately non-fatal) form of anemia. And when it gets bad I get foggy as all hell. My iron levels dipped pretty low over this past month which caused a lot of fatigue and cognitive blah-ness. But the good doctors switched my meds and I'm doing way better now.
Thanks for bearing with me folks! Catching up now.
