How do you handle mummy rot in 3.5?
I'm a bit puzzled how to deal with it ruleswise:
The Monster manual 1 is the best source, actually. But also a bit confusing:
The victim gets a fortitude save and after failing gets 1d6 Con and 1d6 Cha damage (after 1 minute). It doesn't state when to repeat the check and only says it continues until either stat reaches zero and the PC dies. How often do you check this? And is another save allowed? The cure is stated here though.
In the Denizens of Dread is quite short on mummy rot - only referring to the DMG and 'select (or invent)' a disease.
However, the DMG does mention it, but not how to cure it.
How do you handle this?

I make their flesh become like that of the flesh of the mummy from the film "The Mummy (1932)" https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0023245

It repeats daily, I recall.
