Old Kargatane site reviews

Post by Vlad »

Hi, way back in 2000 I only had a telephone line to access the internet, so what I did is download many pages of interesting stuff and read them off-line. Well, times have changed obviously, but I still have all reviews that downloaded back then from the Kargatane site on my PC.. I'd love the share them with others, but I wonder how. Best way, I think, is to post them here on the site, but not sure if that's okay - since all reviewers didn't post them here.. Any ideas?

What do you mean by miniature review? Actual RL miniatures?

I also have a copy of this material.

Indeed, those reviews were very interesting, I always check them before using a new 2e era book.

We could make a PDF out of it and call it "Kargatane site - RL product reviews".

The Ravenloft Ancient Mummies by Ral Partha but the review was a trolling for a friend...

I had reviewed the minis under his name saying something like

"Really good quality and detail although I don't use them as mummies but rather as cyborgs in a game of my own invention called "Cyborgs in Ancient Greece".
.
We had a really good laugh when I showed it to my friends

I didn't expect the Kargatane to keep that review online for long but they actually did, until they closed the site. We still mention it sometimes with the friend I used his name and laugh about it. :lucas:

When you first mentionned it, I did look at the mini reviews and saw this cyborg post. Somehow I did suspect you :)

Eh... I didn't do it
Do you maybe remember your reaction when you read it around 20 years ago?

We were imagining anyone reading it thinking "stupid Greeks" :D

Of course not :) I probably saw it as a weird comment, quickly forgotten.

Good news, I have put in one document all the reviews from the Kargatane old web site.

Expect this huge thing to be online soon.

Took a few hours to compile to format this, but seeing all those old names reminded me a lot of souvenirs.

And here's the file - All the Kargatane site reviews.

Enjoy!
