*DAMMIT, I AM BACK! TRIED TO STOP POSTING FOR A WHILE, BUT SEEMINGLY CAN'T RESIST! REALLY LIKE IT HERE TOOOOOOO MUCH!*
Hello,
I've just purchased the legendary Black Box at ebay. Now, when I opened this treasure, I only counted 23 maps. So, is there a 24th map missing or is the transparent hexmap counted as no. 24?
The box claims to have 4 big full color maps, the transparent map overlay, and 24 cardstock sheets. I have all 24 in mine:

Rules & Tables
Altered Magic - artwork from I10 Griffon Hill
Tables of Terror - same artwork from the cover of the Black Box
Monsters and Militia - artwork from I6 Ravenloft
That card has mostly the tables that are found in the Realm of Terror book that was in the Black Box. Turning Undead in Ravenloft from page 15, Fear Check Modifiers, Fear Check Failure, & Fear Recovery from page 22, Horror Check Modifiers and Failed Horror Check Results from page 23. There is also a list of Undead by Hit Dice, and a list of Undead That Can't Be Turned. Artwork as I said was the box cover & also the cover of the Realm of Terror book.
Thank you again for the detailed description!
-At least, I'll have a glimpse of what's written there. And as the tables can mostly be found in the book, it no great loss. (Besides, on some other baords, someone has agreed to send me a scanned version, so no prob anymore!)
But, hell, if it had been a map, I'd weeped like a baby!
Tell me about it. I got the Black Box off eBay for dirt cheap only to find it didn't have the cards. Or the maps. Or the box. Just the book. I've read auctions pretty carefully after that.
I had to buy the cards seperately and the maps from someone on the boards.
As it turns out I'm still missing one (Veneficus - Hazlik's estate)
On the other hand he also included a double-cardstock thing with two maps of houses (Ontash and Jackques') on the front and two maps of farms on the back (exteriors of the buildings) and a Ravenloft charactersheet in the fold-out middle. I have no idea if that's from the Black Box or something else entirely...

It seems that one will have to buy various versions of the same product to get at one complete edition. *Ennerved.*
And really, as I am not using 2e rules, nor I don't know if it's worth the prize. On the other hand, the maps are really important for any game... I hope you found some way to get them, friend David.
